Student Life at GEC
Genesee Early College is a fully integrated part of the University of Michigan-Flint. Students enrolled in GEC are encouraged to participate in University-wide events and student life opportunities as well as co-curricular programs specifically designed for GEC students.
We believe co-curricular activities are an important component of the educational experience at GEC. In addition to University programs, our faculty offers GEC-specific programs based on student interest and faculty expertise. While we probably won't have a competitive football team (although it may be possible to participate through one's local district), GEC might, in a given year, offer Model United Nations, HOSA, gaming, drama, or video production, based on student demand and faculty areas of expertise.
Students are expected to participate in at least one co-curricular activity each semester.
